Their is no recipie for shifting except knowing yourself and your wereside enough to make the switch.

Some will use meditation, other will walk naked in the forest at night, listen to your inner spirit to change your body and soul into something different.

More support is lent to this approach evidence of partial or total ‘shift while in other altered states of mind. Numerous individuals have reported that they have felt their body change, their senses sharpen, their strength increase, and had others remark that they became noticeably larger, stronger, faster, or different in appearance while in such ‘crisis situations’ or under the influence of such primal emotions such as rage, ecstasy, or fear. While most will explain away the altered perception as adrenal influence, perhaps even some of the physical attributes given, adrenaline alone cannot account for the appearance change to animal resemblance such as hair, nail, and tooth growth, change of body shape, or height difference.

It has been proposed that in order to initiate a physical shift in form one must first overcome the limitations of the mind. One way to accomplish this is to force/coax yourself into an alternate state of awareness where all the things you have been told you are not able to do are forgotten and you are left with only your basic primal being.

A good method for shifting one’s awareness is Ritual. Note that Ritual is not used in a religious sense here, but as the literal definition shown below:

Ritual : rit•u•al adj : any practice done or regularly repeated in a set precise manner so as to satisfy one’s sense of fitness and often felt to have a symbolic or quasi-symbolic significance.

In other words, something you do regularly, repeatedly, or in such a manner as to alter your state of mind. Several examples of this are seen in many religious practices such as monk’s chanting, old shamanistic rites that included meditation, chanting, and drum beating, prayer, self-hypnosis etc.

A ritual can be any little thing you do to put yourself into an altered state of mind. For some this may include the use of drugs or other chemicals, while to others it may be a very long and complicated rite with long periods of chanting or prayer.
 

Here is a step by step guide on how to meet with your wolf spirit through meditation:

  1. First, find a quiet dark place where you can be alone and relax for at least twenty minutes undisturbed.
  2. Next, close your eyes, and take in a few deep breaths. Hold each breath for a count of 3, or whatever is comfortable, and exhale for the same count. Continue to do this until your body feels completely relaxed.
  3. Your mind will begin jumping around. This is normal. If you feel that your mind just won't settle down to let you concentrate, then it's best to give up for now and try again at a later time. It may take several tries which could mean several days, weeks, or even months but your mind will be eventually be ready.
  4. In your mind you will see a place. It can be any place that is comfortable to you. It can be a forest, a meadow, a cave, a warehouse, your home...
  5. As you arrive here, take note of everything you see, feel, hear and sense. Take note of this place and breathe it in. After a while, you will see your wolf spirit somewhere within this place, but don't be afraid. He or she is not here to hurt you, but to help you and guide you.
  6. Communicate with them. This can be done by simply thinking what you wish to say. Find out more about who they are. If they feel the time is right, they will approach you and they will merge with you. You will become one with them.
  7. When you come out of your meditation, you may feel different. You may feel stronger, more confident and your senses may be more acute. This is normal. This is the wolf part of you finally coming out and experiencing the world as you have experienced it all these years.
